Cybercriminals extorted Rs 10.60 lakhs from a husband and wife on the pretense of getting them employment in Canada. This money was demanded by the accused under the pretense of visa and other formalities. The incident happened within the boundaries of Mankapur police station.
The complainant, Sadayya Mantuseshana, is a 32-year-old woman. He was hunting for employment overseas with his wife. Sadayya and his wife got messages on WhatsApp on April 12. The job was brought up. The accused forced them to comply.
The accused then persuaded them to accept a job offer in Canada. Following that, Rs 10.60 lakh was periodically recouped under the heading of visa, document, and other processing fees. He did not, however, offer the worried couple a job.
Sadayya reported the fraud to the Mankapur police station as soon as they became aware of it. A complaint against the accused has been filed by the police under the IT Act.
