Nagpur, India: The Pardi flyover ramp near Vaishnodevi Chowk has become a serious traffic hazard due to encroachments and a damaged road divider. The situation is causing major traffic jams and increasing the risk of accidents.

A broken divider at the ramp allows vehicles to switch lanes dangerously, creating confusion and putting commuters at risk. Encroachments on both sides of the road have narrowed the available space, making it even more difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to move safely.

Local residents have raised concerns. Ramakant Sarda, a resident of the area, said, “It’s extremely risky. Vehicles come from all directions, and it’s very difficult to cross the road safely.” Tea stall owner Ashish Karnewar added, “Earlier it was manageable, but now without traffic police, the place has become chaotic.”

Cyclists and pedestrians are finding it especially dangerous. Anangha Deshpande, a college student, said, “There should be a zebra crossing or traffic signal. Right now, crossing the road is very unsafe.”

To solve the issue, Traffic DCP Archit Chandak has said that metal barricades will be placed to close the divider gap. While this may cause minor inconvenience, officials believe it will help reduce accidents and improve traffic flow.

Residents are now urging the authorities to take quick and effective action to prevent serious mishaps.
