A 38-year-old man was brutally killed by his cousin and accomplices early Tuesday morning in Rambagh, near the Imamwada police. The location of the crime is strikingly close to the local police station. The victim, identified as Nitin Rohanbagh, hailed from Gangabai Ghat. The accused in this case include the husband, Rajesh, also known as Gabbar Chavhan (47), and his two nephews, Ritiesh, alias Bablya Jhanjhote (33), and Ankit Jhanjhote (27), who both reside in Dhobi Ghat, Sadar.

According to the police, Nitin was a maternal cousin of Rajesh and worked as a helper at a hospital. The woman involved, Aarti, had been living with Rajesh for 12 years. Rajesh's first wife had left him due to the mistreatment she endured at his hands, and Nitin was also married with two children.

Around a month ago, Nitin assisted Rajesh and Aarti in resettling to their current residence. During this time, Nitin struck up a friendship with Aarti, which eventually turned into a romantic involvement, with Nitin frequently spending nights with her.

When Rajesh discovered this affair, he began to quarrel with Aarti regularly and resorted to physical violence. On Monday night, Aarti approached the Imamwada police station to file a complaint against Rajesh. Consequently, the police summoned both Nitin and Rajesh. During the meeting, Aarti refused to continue living with Rajesh. Based on her complaint, preventive action was taken against Rajesh by the Imamwada police.

Aarti left the police station in the company of Nitin, which greatly agitated Rajesh. Filled with anger, he decided to confront Nitin and contacted his nephews, Ritesh and Aniket, to inform them of the situation. He asked them to come to Imamwada. At around 3 a.m., Nitin arrived at Aarti's residence with his nephews. Upon seeing Nitin, the three men attacked him. Aarti was also subjected to violence but managed to escape and reach the Imamwada police station. The police accompanied her to her residence, where they found Nitin lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but he was declared dead upon arrival.

The police initiated a search for all the suspects and apprehended Rajesh in the Sitabuldi area, while the other two were caught in Sadar. Following a complaint from Nitin's wife, Madhuri (36), the police have registered a murder case in this matter.

"We have arrested all three suspects, and further investigations are ongoing," stated PI Gaddime. The accused will be presented before the court on Wednesday.
