Nagpur, May 20, 2025: In a major step towards improving traffic flow and restoring order in Sitabuldi’s busy commercial zone, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has removed unauthorised encroachments from Sitabuldi Main Road. Following the clearance drive, the Nagpur Traffic Police have introduced a new parking plan to ease congestion and ensure smoother movement of vehicles.

The updated parking rules came into effect on May 19 and outline specific zones for two-wheelers and four-wheelers along Sitabuldi Main Road.

To prevent further obstructions, street vendors and hawkers have been strictly barred from setting up within a 30-metre radius of key roads and intersections.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Archit Chandak confirmed that enforcement would be firm. “We will strictly implement the parking guidelines on Sitabuldi Main Road. Eleven such city roads have been identified for on-street parking, and notifications have been issued.”

The move has been welcomed by local business owners and shoppers, who say the area had become increasingly chaotic due to illegal stalls and disorganised parking. Authorities hope the new rules will restore order and make Sitabuldi safer and more accessible for pedestrians and motorists alike.
