Suspected fraudster Munna, also known as Mustak Pate (45), assaulted law enforcement officers during his visit to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The police had taken Munna to GMCH for a court-ordered medical examination following his arrest in connection with an extortion case a few days earlier.

Munna had been engaging in extortion activities for an extended period, masquerading as a journalist to extract money from businessmen and others. His recent arrest stemmed from demanding 21 lakh from a café owner. On December 2, he was presented before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Before being transferred to jail, Munna was taken to GMCH for a medical checkup, accompanied by officers Pardhe, Dinesh Jumnak, Sukhdev Girsawre, and Nitesh Ujwal Patekar.

During the visit, Munna verbally abused the police officers and physically attacked Nitesh Pardhe, attempting to escape. He also made threats to have the officers suspended but was apprehended by other members of the police force.

The situation was brought under control by senior officers, who subsequently filed a complaint with the Ajni police station as directed by officials.
