Nagpur, India: The Nagpur administration is making detailed preparations to ensure a smooth and comfortable departure for over 2,100 Haj pilgrims travelling from the city this year. Pilgrims from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar will begin departing from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport between 23 and 30 May.

A review meeting was held on Thursday under the leadership of Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari to assess arrangements. Officials from various departments including the police, airport authority, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, PWD, traffic police, SBI, Air India, and the Maharashtra State Haj Committee were present to coordinate efforts.

According to the plan, 1,521 pilgrims will be travelling from Maharashtra, while 587 are from Chhattisgarh and Bihar. Their return is scheduled between 30 June and 3 July 2025.

Special attention is being given to facilities at the Haj House, where pilgrims will be accommodated before departure, and at the airport to streamline the boarding process. Assistance counters and essential services will be set up to support pilgrims throughout the journey.

Commissioner Bidari emphasised the importance of close coordination between departments to ensure all facilities are in place, ensuring the pilgrims' comfort and safety during their travel.
