Nagpur, India: Nagpur faced sudden and strong rain on Wednesday evening, causing trees to fall, roads to flood, and power to go out in many areas. The city received 22.4 mm of rainfall in just 30 minutes, along with strong winds blowing at 40–50 knots.

The weather suddenly changed after a hot day where the temperature reached 41.2°C. Experts say the rain and storm were due to a low-pressure area forming over the Arabian Sea, which created storm clouds over the city.

Areas like Old Morris College Square, Godhni, and Dhantoli saw trees fall onto roads and power lines. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. However, all evening flights were delayed by 2–3 hours due to the bad weather.

Many homes in places like Deendayal Nagar, Hanuman Nagar, and Chandan Nagar lost electricity. The Maharashtra State Electricity Board worked quickly and restored power to most areas by 9:30 PM, though repairs to smaller power lines are still ongoing.

The weather department had already warned of heavy rain with a yellow alert for Vidarbha. Citizens are advised to be careful, as more bad weather could come in the next few days.
