In a significant legal development, former Maharashtra Minister and Congress legislator Sunil Kedar have been handed a five-year prison sentence for the misappropriation of funds at the Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank (NDCCB).

The verdict was delivered by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate J V Pekhle-Purkar in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Friday, concluding a legal proceeding that traces its origins back to the year 2002.
