In a distressing incident in the Kanhan area, a 30-year-old man brutally attacked his wife by slitting her throat with a knife during a domestic dispute on Tuesday morning. The victim, identified as Duleshwari, also known as Kusum Bhoyar (25), was fatally wounded, and her husband, Amit Bhoyar, is the alleged perpetrator.

According to the police, Duleshwari, the daughter of Ramkrishna Devgade from Ranala in Kamptee tehsil, had a romantic involvement with Amit. However, Duleshwari's family strongly disapproved of their union. In the face of opposition, she eloped with Amit and married him in a Nagpur temple. The couple later managed to convince her family, leading to a second wedding on March 5, 2022. As financial troubles mounted, disputes arose between the couple just a few months after their second wedding. The constant conflicts also put pressure on Amit's family.

In response, the couple relocated to a rented house in Kamptee, situated close to Duleshwari's parents' residence. However, their daily clashes continued unabated, prompting the landlord to ask them to vacate the property. Just 15 days ago, they left the rented house in Kamptee and returned to Amit's home in Tekadi.

On Tuesday morning, an argument erupted between Duleshwari and her mother-in-law, despite Amit's efforts to intervene. When Amit's mother left the house to report the altercation to the police, the situation escalated. Meanwhile, Amit's father and sister had already left for work in the morning.

The quarrel between Duleshwari and Amit over domestic issues persisted, and in a fit of rage, Amit used a knife to inflict a fatal injury on Duleshwari, who tragically lost her life on the spot.

In a state of panic, Amit reached out to one of his friends for support. After recounting the horrifying incident to his friend, they decided that it was best to inform the police. Amit subsequently made his way to the Kanhan police station on his friend's motorcycle and surrendered himself. The Kanhan police have registered a case of murder in connection with the incident and have placed Amit under arrest.

Law enforcement officers swiftly arrived at the accused's residence, and the victim's body was transported to the hospital. Amit's family was stunned upon learning of the incident when they returned home, while Duleshwari's family was also left in a state of shock.
