Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Crime Branch has seized a large quantity of the banned drug mephedrone (MD) worth ₹45.6 lakh during a raid in the Hudkeshwar area. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.

The operation was carried out based on a tip-off received by the Unit 4 team of the Crime Branch. Acting swiftly, the team intercepted the accused and recovered 456 grams of MD drug, which was reportedly meant for illegal distribution in the city.

The arrested accused is 25 years old and believed to be involved in a larger drug supply network. Officials suspect he was working as a local distributor, supplying the substance to peddlers in and around Nagpur.

A case has been registered under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further links in the supply chain and to identify other individuals involved in the racket.

The police have assured that strict action will continue against those involved in drug trafficking and have urged citizens to come forward with any information that could aid in the fight against narcotics.
