Ramkaran Yadav, the General Manager of Central Railway, announced today that Nagpur and Ajni Railway Stations are slated to achieve world-class status by 2025-26. The General Manager shared that comprehensive planning has been undertaken for this transformation. Since assuming office, Yadav has conducted safety inspections of railway operations in Badnera, Wardha, and Nagpur areas. The inspections covered railway tracks, station buildings, bridges, railway gates, railway colonies, and ongoing projects under the Amrit Bharat Station initiative.

Addressing safety concerns, Yadav mentioned the installation of CCTV cameras in trains under the Nirbhaya scheme. Responding to the demand for new train services, particularly on the Nagpur-Pune and Mumbai route, he acknowledged the substantial passenger traffic and expressed interest in evaluating the feasibility of starting Vande Bharat services from Nagpur to Ayodhya, Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. A proposal will be submitted to the Railway Board after a thorough examination of various aspects. The press conference also touched upon topics like sleeper coaches, third and fourth lines, and other relevant issues.

Yadav further disclosed that the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded railway line is now completed up to Kalamb. All preparations have been finalized for inaugurating the line, and the Wardha to Kalamb train is scheduled to commence operations this February. Despite two previously fixed inauguration dates being canceled, Yadav assured that the line's inauguration would proceed as planned this time.
