Nagpur: Two Chain Snatchers Arrested by Crime Branch, Gold Pendant Recovered

Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two chain snatchers involved in a recent theft in the Nandanvan area.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Zakir Mohammad Shahid (24) and Sheikh Nawaz Sheikh Riyaz Ahmed (20), both residents of Bada Tajbagh, were apprehended after a prompt and efficient investigation by the police.

The incident took place when Kundan Singh Hatwar (69), a resident of Shaktimata Nagar, was sitting outside a shop. The two accused approached him on a motorcycle, and one of them quickly snatched a gold chain and pendant from his neck before speeding away.

Following the incident, the Crime Branch launched a detailed probe, which led to the arrest of the duo. Police recovered the motorcycle used in the crime, a mobile phone, and the stolen gold pendant, all together worth ₹1.10 lakh.

Police officials said the arrests are a significant step in controlling chain snatching cases in the city. Further investigations are underway to check for their involvement in similar past offences.
