Nagpur, India: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that many parts of Vidarbha, including Nagpur, will continue to see rain and thunderstorms until Friday.
An orange alert has been issued for Wardha, Chandrapur, and Yavatmal today, and for Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli tomorrow. Other districts are under a yellow alert, which means people should stay cautious.
The weather change is due to active monsoon conditions over the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. IMD also said that the monsoon is likely to reach Tamil Nadu by 27 May, and Vidarbha could receive more rainfall than usual this year.
The rain has brought down the temperature in Nagpur, which dropped from 39.6°C to 35.9°C in just one day. Buldhana recorded the lowest temperature at 34.5°C.
People are advised to check weather updates regularly and take care during this period of thunderstorms and rain.
