Nagpur, India: In a shocking incident, a woman who married a man after trapping him in a love affair fled from their home just 15 days after marriage, taking cash and jewellery with her. This was her second marriage, and the woman’s first husband has allegedly been threatening the man with dire consequences. The police have registered a non-cognisable (NC) offence in the case, but the victim is frustrated and questioning how he will get justice.

Jagdish, a resident of the Nandanvan police station area, works at a hotel in Ganeshpeth. During work, he met Pooja, a housekeeping staff member, and the two developed a relationship. Although Pooja was already married and had two sons, Jagdish accepted her and decided to marry her. The couple got married on 31st October 2024 at Tekdi Ganesh Temple and later moved to a rented house in Kamptee.

To formalise their relationship, Jagdish and Pooja performed a proper marriage ceremony in the presence of their relatives on 2nd February. However, just 14 days later, on 16th February, while Jagdish was taking a bath, Pooja left the house with her two children. She also took ₹25,000 in cash and gold jewellery that belonged to Jagdish.

After Pooja’s disappearance, her first husband, Vinod, began threatening Jagdish over the phone and even confronted him at the railway station. Feeling unsafe, Jagdish filed complaints at both the Railway Police Station and Nandanvan Police Station. However, only a non-cognisable offence was registered, leaving Jagdish dissatisfied and questioning how he would receive justice.

The police are currently investigating the case, but Jagdish continues to fear for his safety and hopes that stricter action will be taken to bring the culprits to justice.
