In a significant crackdown, authorities intercepted 9 kilograms of gold worth of approximately 5.40 Crores on the Azad Hind Express. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) in a joint team has arrested two individuals named Rahul (36) and Baluram (41) both residents of Nagpur. 

Following the seizure, The DRI Officials raided a jeweller in Itwari named purshottam has been further arrested. According to Nagpur Trends sources, it is said that the entire smuggling racket involves a big and reknowned jeweller in Nagpur whose shop is based on Itwari. DRI officials are said to be further investigating on the case.

While DRI is involed in handling such cases, Nagpur is recently seen a splurge in Gold Smuggling Cases which also questions the Nagpur Police Authority control over handling such crimes in the city.
