New Kamptee Police nab burglar in Nagpur for selling stolen gold to local jewellers; recovered valuables and launched further investigation.

Nagpur, India: In a major success, New Kamptee Police arrested a 23-year-old burglar and his juvenile accomplice for stealing gold jewellery and cash from a house in Saeed Nagar and later selling the stolen gold to a local jeweller.
The accused, Afroze Ansari Shamsad Ansari, a resident of Girija Nagar in Bhandewadi, broke into the house of Sheikh Salim Sheikh Bismillah, who had been away in Bhopal. Upon returning on 7 May, the victim found his home ransacked and valuables missing. A complaint was lodged, prompting police to begin an investigation.
With the help of CCTV footage, police traced Afroze and took him into custody. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the theft with a juvenile and selling the stolen gold to Anandrao Randive Jewellers.
Police recovered gold ornaments worth ₹2.25 lakh from the operation. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused and the jeweller.
The investigation is still underway to check for links to any additional thefts.
