Nagpur: Heavy rains have caused flooding in several areas on the outskirts of the city. Rescue operations continued on Wednesday in Nav Kanya Nagar, Navin Nagar, Narsala, and other low-lying areas in East and South Nagpur.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Fire and Emergency Services team rescued 12 people trapped due to waterlogging. The rescue work is being supervised by Chief Fire Officer Tushar Barahate.
In Dhangauri Nagar, Pawari, and Punapur, four people – including a man, a woman, and two children – were safely rescued from floodwaters.
Rescue teams are also active in Pardi, Nav Kanya Nagar, and Navin Nagar. Fire officers had to walk through water-filled streets to help people.
The NMC has kept more rescue teams ready in case the rain continues. Authorities have advised people living in flood-prone areas to stay alert and call the NMC control room for help during emergencies.
