Nagpur, India: Residents across several parts of Nagpur experienced power outages today as the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) carried out essential pre-monsoon maintenance work.
The outages were scheduled in areas under the Civil Lines Division and Seminary Hills, where electricity was cut from 8 am to 11 am. Localities including Aakar Nagar, Jagdish Nagar, and MB Estate were affected.
The maintenance work involved checking and repairing overhead cables, transformers, and removing tree branches that could interfere with power lines during the rainy season.
MSEDCL officials stated that these outages are necessary to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the monsoon and to reduce the risk of faults caused by heavy rain and storms. Residents were advised to plan their electricity use accordingly during the maintenance window.
Similar drives were conducted earlier this month in other parts of the city, and more such outages may be expected as the department completes its pre-monsoon checklist.
