Before the G20 conference, Nagpur took on the appearance of a new bride, and a huge number of its residents flocked to the streets to see the transformed city. Thrilled citizens are using their cellphone cameras to record the beauty.

Nagpur has previously hosted a number of significant individuals and events, but the planning and arrangements undertaken this time are exceptional. The airport's lounge, which was recently renovated, has undergone more work, and a new "roaring" focal point has emerged to celebrate the area's status as the Tiger Capital of India. The city had been heavily involved in a hurried and demanding renovation effort in the lead-up to the G20.

Among the initial unexpected developments was the sudden proliferation of bougainvillaea on the previously largely bare road barriers. Shaheed Gowari Flyover's mess was cleaned up, made beautiful, and the pillars received a fresh, appealing appearance. Unpleasant sights were cleverly concealed behind hoardings while gloomy, under-construction buildings were covered in endless amounts of the tiranga colours.

On Friday night, the madness started. With a stream of automobiles and two-wheelers moving so gently, as if they'd been strolling through an exhibition, Wardha Road was a traffic mess at night. While the installation of statues beneath flyovers, landscaping, fountains, paint jobs, and flora were all done steadily, Nagpurians were taken aback by the lighting display.

Every roadside attraction has crowds of people squeezing in front of it for photos. It is already an early Diwali in the city, with massive goblets of lights, laser shows, focus lights, and series strung from trees. Several people, however, also think that our dazzling exhibition of hospitality may have gone a little too far. But, the city's star-struck populace is scrambling to get a peek of all the grandeur because the budget may be cut soon.
