Six underage offenders fled after assaulting security personnel. The incident occurred on Sunday around 11:30 am at the Children’s Reformatory in Patankar Chowk, North Nagpur. All six escapees are 17 years old.

The correctional facility at Patankar Chowk currently houses 15 juvenile delinquents with records of theft, forced theft, and robbery. At 11:30 am on Sunday, the six individuals were taken out of their room. While counting, a dispute arose between some of them and two security guards. Subsequently, all six attacked the guards, inflicting severe injuries. They managed to obtain a key from one of the guards, unlocked the facility, and dispersed. The guards promptly notified the authorities, and an officer reported the incident to the Kapil Nagar police.

The police filed charges of kidnapping, assault, and escape from the correctional facility. Among the fugitives, two hail from Gondia, while the others are residents of Kapilnagar, Hudkeshwar, Kalmana, and Imamwada. Two police teams have been deployed to locate the juvenile offenders, conducting searches at their residences, railway stations, and bus stations.
