An 80-year-old woman, who was riding as a passenger on a villager's motorcycle, lost her life due to head injuries when she was struck by the bucket of an earth-moving machine at the Bokhara T-point in the Koradi area of Nagpur, as reported by the police on Friday. The motorcyclist also suffered severe injuries in this unfortunate incident.

Law enforcement authorities have taken legal action against the driver of the earth-moving vehicle for carelessly operating the Poclain machine and causing the elderly woman's death due to negligence. The victim, identified as Rukhmabai Sukhdeo Patil, was a resident of Chakki Khapa. The incident occurred during road construction work between Khapa and Bokhara T-Point, where the Porcelain machine was being used.

Rukhmabai Sukhdeo Patil and Mahesh Mahadeo Nagankar (34), both residents of Chakki Khapa, were on their way back to their village aboard a motorcycle (MH-40/AG-0549) at approximately 12 noon. Unfortunately, the driver of the Poclain machine lost control of it, causing the machine's bucket to collide with the passing motorcycle. Consequently, Rukhmabai and Mahesh were thrown off the motorcycle near Sisodiya Farm House. They were rushed to Mayo Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced Rukhmabai deceased.

Following Mahesh's statement, the Koradi Police registered a case against the Poclain machine driver under Sections 279 and 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations into the matter are currently underway.

In a separate incident in Kapil Nagar, a young man lost his life when he was crushed beneath the wheels of a tipper truck after the driver forcibly pushed him from the vehicle's cabin. Fearing potential public retaliation, the tipper driver quickly fled the scene.

The victim, identified as Azhar Ali Akbar Ali (26), from Lane No 18, Mahendra Nagar, Pachpaoli. Azhar Ali was riding as a passenger on his friend Mohammad Shoaib Mohammad Sabir's Bajaj Platina motorcycle (MH31/3805) at around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday. Mohammad Shoaib (34), who lived in Wanjra Layout, was on his way to drop Azhar off at his house. At Pili Nadi Chowk, a tipper truck travelling in the Kamptee direction brushed against their motorcycle.

Mohammad Shoaib managed to intercept the tipper, and Azhar disembarked from the motorcycle, attempting to enter the tipper driver's cabin through the driver's door. After a brief exchange of words, a physical altercation ensued between Azhar and the driver. The tipper driver accelerated the vehicle while Azhar clung to the cabin door. Subsequently, the driver forcefully pushed Azhar, causing him to fall to the ground. Azhar ended up beneath the rear wheels of the tipper, sustaining grave injuries. The tipper driver fled the scene to evade public anger. Azhar was swiftly transported to Mayo Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Kapil Nagar Police have registered a case against the tipper driver under Sections 279 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code.
