Two more innocent people, including a five-year-old boy, lost their life in hit-and-run incidents on Tuesday, adding to the number of fatal traffic accidents in Nagpur.

In the first incidence, which happened on Hingna Road in the MIDC area on Monday at around 9.30 am, Digdoh resident Pawan Harideen Yadav (35), along with his wife Rani (24) and kid Krishna (5), went to the shop in front of SRPF Gate No 2 to refill a tiny LPG cylinder. After that, his wife Rani brought her son Krishna along with her so she could get cash out of the Axis Bank ATM across the road.

Krishna suffered severe injuries after being struck by a carelessly driven automobile while the mother-son pair were crossing the street. The driver of the car instantly stopped. He drove his mother, father, and injured Krishna to Shalinitai Meghe Hospital in Wanadongri, where he fled with the victims. After moving his son to Government Medical College & Hospital because Yadav could not afford the hospital bills for Krishna's care, the boy passed away on Tuesday at 10.30 a.m. The victim's father's statement was recorded by MIDC Police, who then filed a complaint in accordance with Sections 279, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 134, 177, and 184 of the Motor Vehicle (MV) Act. They also began searching for the negligent driver.

Another incidence happened on Bhandara Road in front of the Kapsi (Bujurg) gate in the Pardi Police Station area. An unidentifiable vehicle was speeding at the time and killed the person who was walking. The deceased, who was in his thirties, was not identified at this time. He was strolling along the road at about eight in the morning. He was suddenly struck by a carelessly driven car. The driver of the vehicle fled after he collapsed and sustained severe injuries. The victim instantly passed away from his injuries before receiving any medical attention.

For a post-mortem, Pardi Police sent the body to Mayo Hospital. Under Sections 279, 338, and 304(a) of the IPC in conjunction with Sections 177 and 184 of the MV Act, police filed a complaint.
