In a recent development, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari held a crucial meeting at Ravi Bhavan to assess the drinking water supply situation in the city. The primary focus of the meeting was to address the issue of water leakages and improve the overall supply position. During the meeting, Gadkari issued clear directives to Orange City Water (OCW), urging them to take immediate action and rectify the existing problems within a span of 15 days.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Gadkari to evaluate the current water supply status and discuss plans for its augmentation. Officials presented proposals to increase the number of overhead water tanks and extend the coverage to the remaining areas on the outskirts of the city. Recognizing the importance of water conservation, the Minister emphasized the optimal utilization of available resources, directing OCW officials to make full use of machinery to conserve every drop of water.

The meeting witnessed the presence of various distinguished individuals, including Krishna Khopde, MLA, Pravin Datke, MLC, Vikas Kumbhare, MLA, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Radhakrishnan B, NIT's Chairman Manoi Kumar Survavanshi, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Superintending Engineer of the Water Resources Department, NMC, Shweta Banerjee, OCW's CEO Nitesh Singh, and several other officials. Their valuable insights and expertise contributed to the comprehensive discussion on the matter.

With a keen eye on immediate resolutions, Minister Gadkari stressed the need for OCW to promptly address the prevailing issues within the drinking water supply system. The allotted 15-day timeframe highlights the urgency in improving the water supply infrastructure and rectifying leakages to ensure a more efficient distribution network. The Minister's directive serves as a call to action for OCW, emphasizing the importance of providing uninterrupted and reliable drinking water to the residents.
