In yet another case of online fraud, a woman fell victim to cyber crooks, losing Rs. 9.81 lakh. The incident prompted her to file a complaint at Hudkeshwar Police Station.

The 33-year-old victim, residing at Ghogli, Besa Road, received a message in August from a woman named Roza, claiming to offer a high-paying part-time job. Trusting the offer, she accepted and completed online tasks assigned to her between August 17, 2023, and August 22, 2023. The fraudsters then convinced her to invest in share trading, promising significant returns.

As a result, she transferred the sum of Rs. 9.81 lakh to different accounts as instructed. However, shortly after the transfer, the cyber criminals siphoned off the entire amount. Upon realizing the fraud, the victim lodged a complaint with the police.

Subsequently, an FIR was registered under Sections 420 and 66(d) of the Indian Penal Code, and an investigation into the matter has commenced.
