Air India Halts International Flight Over Safety Concerns Amid Tightened Checks

Nagpur, India: Air India’s Delhi to Paris flight (AI-143) was cancelled on Tuesday afternoon after technical issues were detected during routine pre-flight checks. The airline said the move was a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety.

The flight, scheduled to depart at 1:15 PM, was called off after engineers found a fault during last-minute inspections. Although the exact nature of the problem was not disclosed, Air India stressed that safety remains its top priority.

As a result of the cancellation, the return flight from Paris (AI-142) was also cancelled. Passengers affected by the disruption were offered full refunds, alternative bookings, or hotel accommodations.

This development comes days after a tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad, which has prompted the airline to intensify safety protocols and technical inspections across its fleet, especially the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have directed Air India to conduct thorough checks before every international flight. The airline has also initiated medical and mental health evaluations for pilots and staff to ensure operational readiness amid rising concerns.
