Anti-Narcotic Cell seized 13 grams of MD Drug, two Arrested

The Crime Branch of the Anti-Narcotic Cell arrested two men from the Sakkardara area for selling mephedrone (MD) powder in the early hours of Tuesday. The police seized approximately 13 grams of MD powder amounting to 1,13 lakh, two mobile phones and a TATA car was also confiscated that was worth Rs. 6.99 lakh. 

The people charged with the crime are Milind Prem Hirani, who lives in Shree Nagar, Manewada Ring Road, and Saurabh Ganpatrao Hanwante, who resides in Shiv Sakti Nagar, Hudkeshwar.

Officials from the cell received a tip that some individuals were involved in the sale of illegal substances. They were expected to arrive at Digori Chowk in a four-wheeler around 1:30 am, with potential customers also arriving to collect contraband substances. Acting on this information, the police intercepted the car at Digori Chowk and found two men, Milind and Saurabh inside. The police searched the two men according to the procedure laid out by the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

During the search, the police discovered 13.41 grams of MD powder, worth 1.34 lakh, as well as other belongings such as mobile phones and the car, were confiscated. Milind and Saurabhre were taken into custody and handed over to the Sakkardhara police station, where a case was registered against them under Sections 8(c), 22(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
