BMW Test Drive Turns Deadly in Chinchbhuvan, Driver Absconds with Family

Nagpur, India: A tragic hit-and-run incident in Chinchbhuvan has claimed the life of a 29-year-old man after a luxury BMW car rammed into a two-wheeler early Saturday morning. The accused, who was reportedly test-driving the vehicle, fled Nagpur with his family following the accident.

The deceased, identified as Yogesh Bopase, a resident of Gittikhadan, was riding pillion on a bike near the Chinchbhuvan intersection when the speeding BMW struck their vehicle from behind. Yogesh sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

The BMW involved in the accident was registered in Mumbai and was reportedly in Nagpur for sale. According to police sources, the person behind the wheel was a potential buyer who had taken the vehicle for a test drive. Soon after the incident, he abandoned the car and fled the city along with his family.

The Ajni police have registered a case of culpable homicide and hit-and-run, and efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused using CCTV footage and vehicle records. Preliminary investigation indicates reckless driving as the cause of the accident.

Residents have raised concerns over the growing number of accidents in the Chinchbhuvan area, urging authorities to take strict measures to improve road safety and enforce speed limits.

The police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
