Candidates have begun filing their nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in various cities across Maharashtra.

In Chandrapur, Sudhir Mungantiwar, the Forest Minister of Maharashtra, has submitted his nomination papers, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Additionally, Ashok Mahadev Nete, also from the BJP, has filed his papers for the Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha seat.

The late Congress MP Balu Dhanorkar's wife, MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar, is set to enter the fray by filing her nomination in Chandrapur. As of now, no other candidates have emerged, signaling a direct contest between Mungantiwar and Dhanorkar.

Meanwhile, in Gadchiroli-Chimur, Ashok Nete and Barikrao Dharmaji Madavi have submitted their nominations, with Madavi representing the Bahujan Republican Socialist Party. The filing deadline for this constituency is Wednesday.

The upcoming elections hold significant importance for both BJP and Congress, as they aim to secure victory in these crucial Maharashtra cities. With candidates from various political backgrounds in the mix, the electoral battle for Lok Sabha seats is underway across the state.
