Case Filed Against Two Individuals for Misusing MP Funds

The Old Kamptee Police have lodged a case against the Chairman and Secretary of the Babu Hardas Exercise Training Center on charges of diverting MP funds by constructing a shop instead of a gym. The accused individuals are identified as President Ashok Purushottam Nagarare (64) and Secretary Abhilash Anandrao Vase (40).

Previously, there was a gym in Old Kamathi that fell into disrepair, leading to a decision to reconstruct it. To facilitate this, an organization was established and registered with the Charity Commissioner, named the Babu Hardas Exercise Training Centre. An amount of ₹6,77,208 was sanctioned from the MP fund for the building's construction. However, it has come to light that instead of a gymnasium, a commercial building housing the Babu Hardas Exercise Training Center was constructed. The organization operated shops within the building, leasing them to the public.

A complaint was filed by Rajesh Meshram, a resident of Hardas Nagar, alleging the misuse of MP funds by the chairman and secretary. The accused purportedly constructed shops instead of a gymnasium using MP funds and profited by renting them out. As initial police action was lacking, Meshram sought legal recourse, prompting the Old Kamptee police to register a case of criminal conspiracy and fraud following court instructions. An investigation into the matter is now underway.
