n a distressing event at the Jaiprakash Nagar Metro Railway Station, a 23-year-old woman fell victim to molestation. The accused, identified as Aniket Jitendra Meshram (23), allegedly followed and accosted her on January 10.
Aniket Meshram, a resident of Indora, reportedly followed the young woman and seized her mobile phone at the Metro Railway Station. This marked the beginning of a harrowing encounter for the victim.
After taking the victim's phone, Meshram purportedly insisted that she accompany him for a discussion. However, when met with refusal, the situation escalated, leading to the accused molesting and verbally abusing the 23-year-old woman.
Sonegaon Police swiftly responded to the incident, registering a case under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 294 (obscene acts or words), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code against Aniket Jitendra Meshram.
The legal process is now in motion to bring justice to the victim. The incident underscores the need for increased vigilance and security measures to ensure the safety of individuals at public spaces such as metro stations.
