Family Members Booked for Fraudulent Investment Scheme

The RANA Pratap Nagar Police have taken action against four members of a family, including three women, for running a company named Captree Investments. They are accused of cheating 30 individuals out of over Rs 5.48 crore. The accused individuals are Nilesh Uikey (40) and Priyanka Uikey (36) from Trimurti Nagar, Neha Roshan Meshram (36) from Cosmos Town, and Rashmi Uikey-Gode (42) from Hyderabad.

The police explained that the four accused set up an office at Plot No 49, Cosmos Town, Trimurti Nagar, where they enticed people to invest money by promising monthly interest rates of six to seven per cent. Between December 1, 2021, and May 6, 2024, they collected Rs 5,48,96,956 from 30 investors and then deceived them.

The case was brought to light after a complaint was filed by Vasudeo Sakharam Raut (62), who resides in Plot No 85, Rai Town, Isasani, MIDC. The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Section 3 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act.
