Five Sales Girls Allegedly took ₹74 Lakhs of Jewellery from Itwari

In a shocking incident, five sales girls employed at Chimurkar Brothers, a jewellery store owned by Shantanu Deepak Chimurkar in Itwari Sarafa Market, have allegedly stolen gold and silver valued at ₹74,25,000 over four years. The accused individuals, identified as Swati Lute, Priya Raut, Pooja Bhanarkar, Bhagyashree Indalkar, and Kalyani Khatkar, are now the subjects of a case registered by the Tehsil Police, who have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The jewellery theft is reported to have occurred between the years 2019 and August 30, 2023, during the tenure of employment of these sales girls at Chimurkar's shop. Upon discovering the substantial loss, Shantanu Chimurkar, the shop owner, promptly filed a complaint with the Tehsil Police. The police have invoked Section 381 and launched a thorough investigation into the alleged involvement of all five sales girls in the theft.
