Apart from long weekends like Holi and Good Friday in March, the summer holidays from April to June are expected to see a 30-40% increase in air travelers compared to last year. According to data from travel agencies and booking platforms, searches and bookings for April to June have increased by up to 150%. Consequently, airfares have risen by 10-60% on various routes.

According to Rajesh Mago, Co-founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, Goa remains a favorite destination in summers. Besides, bookings are also increasing for destinations like Srinagar, Udaipur, Jaipur, Puri, and Varanasi. Prahlad Krishnamurthy, Chief Business Officer of Cleartrip, stated that airfares may rise further in April-June. In April, the fare for Air India's Mumbai to Delhi flight ranges between 5362-6469 rupees, while for May, the fare on the same route has increased by about 40-60% to 7861-10629 rupees.

Travelers affected by rent increase There has been a 150% increase in inquiries and bookings for summers compared to last year. However, airfares have risen by 60-70% compared to pre-COVID levels seen in 2023. Despite this, travelers this year are showing strong willingness to spend on both flights and accommodations.
