Former Police Inspector and Associates Accused of Threatening Motorcyclist at Gunpoint

Pravin Munde, previously in charge of Khaparkheda police station and an assistant police inspector, is now entangled in a legal dispute with two fellow officers, Pradeep Mane and Shailesh Yadav. The allegations stem from an incident in which they are accused of menacing a motorcyclist at gunpoint following a collision, leading to the filing of an official complaint at the Koradi police station on a Wednesday.

The Alleged Episode The incident occurred in June when Munde and his colleagues travelled in a private car. Abruptly slamming on the brakes, they caused Shubham Wahane, a motorcyclist approaching from behind, to sustain severe injuries, including a fractured arm, as he collided with Munde’s car. According to the complaint filed in the high court, after the accident, Munde and his colleagues, dressed in civilian clothing, purportedly threatened Wahane at gunpoint.

Pressure and Falsification of Records Assertions of Hospital Admission Against Biker’s Wishes and Manipulated Documentation

Wahane contends that Munde and the two police officers coerced him into being admitted to a hospital in Kamptee against his wishes. Additionally, the complaint states that Munde and his associates falsified records, claiming that Koradi police had taken Wahane to the police station after dispersing a crowd.

Legal Proceedings and Intervention by Police Chief Wahane lodged his police complaint in July, and when local authorities initially hesitated to take action, he sought redress through the high court. Police chief Amitesh Kumar intervened upon learning of the petition. Consequently, Munde, who had been reassigned to the control room, is set to be summoned for questioning.
