Gold and Cash Stolen, and an Older Woman Attacked

A thief who had attacked an old lady at her Cantonment Area bungalow with an electric iron before robbing her of Rs 25,000 in cash and gold jewelry has been apprehended by New Kamptee Police. After conducting the bold heist, the perpetrator, identified as Khursapar, Tehsil Saoner native Arvind Ashish Kumre (25), was apprehended in six hours.
When the incident happened, Amarender Ajit Bedi, 66, who lived in Bungalow No. 10 in the Kamptee Cantonment Area, was by herself at home. She was asleep in her bedroom when, at one in the morning, she heard something moving in the backyard.
She was severely injured when Arvind Kumre attacked her with an electric iron after she went to check and unlocked the back door. He had jumped inside the house from the window. Kumre then took off her chains, which were made of silver and gold. Along with stealing a cell phone and an almirah, he made off with Rs 25,000 and fled the scene.
The sufferer was taken to Asha Hospital, Kamptee, as soon as the crime was discovered. Following the recording of the victim's statement, Kumre was apprehended by New Kamptee Police, who also took possession of the cash and gold and silver chains.
