Illegal Cattle Transport Racket Busted in Nagpur, 4 Arrested by Koradi Police

Nagpur, India: Koradi Police successfully busted an illegal cattle transportation racket on Wednesday, rescuing 22 cattle and arresting four individuals involved in the operation.

The arrests were made near Gate No. 660 of the New Power Plant area, where police intercepted four pickup vehicles carrying the animals. The cattle were found in cramped conditions without food or water, highlighting severe animal cruelty.

The accused have been identified as Ramkishor Chainsingh Gonekar (33), Ramsingh Ghasiram Yadav (25), Amale Chintaman Pudke (28), and Ankit Ramchandra Pahade (23). They are residents of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The total value of the rescued cattle is estimated at ₹3.4 lakh, while the seized vehicles are worth around ₹19.4 lakh. A case has been registered based on a complaint by Police Constable Yogesh Wanjari under various sections of the IPC, Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Koradi Police have intensified vigilance to crack down on such illegal activities and safeguard animal welfare in the region.
