Illegal Hookah Parlour Busted in Sitabuldi, Four Arrested

Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police cracked down on an illegal hookah parlour operating on the second floor of a café in the busy Sitabuldi area late Monday evening. Four individuals were arrested in the operation.

Acting on a tip-off, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of Crime Branch raided the establishment, which was running the hookah parlour without necessary permissions. The café was found serving flavoured tobacco in hookahs to customers in violation of state and central tobacco control regulations.

Officials confirmed that the accused were caught red-handed. Flavoured tobacco products and hookah paraphernalia were seized from the premises during the raid.

A case has been registered at the Sitabuldi Police Station, and investigations are underway to determine how long the illegal operation had been running and whether more people are involved.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against businesses operating in violation of public health norms and licensing rules.
