In Ajni a Woman Takes Her Own Life After Heartbreaking Scam by Boyfriend

In a heartbreaking incident at the Ajni Police Station, a young woman chose to end her life after enduring blackmail and a broken promise of marriage from her boyfriend.

According to police, the 24-year-old woman became trapped in a romantic relationship with Harshal Sagar Kotangale (27), a resident of Jaripatka. What started as a loving connection eventually became a nightmarish trial when Harshal, who was already married, illicitly captured explicit photographs of her. To compound her distress, he rejected his commitment to marry her. When she confronted him about his betrayal, Harshal resorted to blackmail, threatening to expose the compromising pictures. Overwhelmed by the situation, she tragically took her own life by hanging herself within the confines of her locked bedroom.

The victim's brother filed a formal complaint against Harshal with the Ajni police. Further investigation revealed that the woman had been married in 2016 and had a child, but due to marital conflicts, she had left her matrimonial home two years ago. For the past year, she had been residing with her parents and brother in the vicinity of the Ajni Police Station, where she worked at Trillium Mall near Medical Square.

During this period, she had entered into a relationship with Harshal, who had pledged to marry her after divorcing his wife. He frequently visited her residence and even borrowed money from her. The Ajni Police have registered a case against Harshal Kotangale under Sections 306 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
