Indian Revenue Service 75′′ Batch Valediction Ceremony at NADT, Nagpur

The National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), in Nagpur, is planned to host the Valediction Ceremony for the 75′′ batch on April 5, 2023 at 10 am. This batch includes 47 IRS officials and 02 officers of the Royal Bhutan Service. The Hon. Nitin Gupta, Chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, has generously agreed to attend as the chief guest. Top officials from the Nagpur office of the Income Tax Department are anticipated to attend.
The Government of India's premier training facility for Indian Revenue Service Officers (Income Tax) is the National Academy of Direct Taxes in Nagpur. The Union Public Service Commission administers the Civil Services Examination (CSE) for the recruitment of IRS Officers (UPSC). Before being assigned to field offices, direct recruit IRS Officers must complete an induction training programme that lasts roughly 16 months. Officer Trainees receive specialised instruction in income tax laws, jurisprudence, allied laws, general laws, and business laws while undergoing training in many facets of tax administration.
The officer trainees take part in extensive accounting and accounting system training. To further prepare the Trainees for investigations into tax concerns and financial crimes including tax evasion and money laundering, inputs in financial forensics and cyber forensics are also provided. The Trainees are very sensitive to taxpayer services, which makes compliance easier. Moreover, practical training includes attachments with RBI, SEBI, NSDL, and other statutory and constitutional agencies in India, as well as with field offices of the Income Tax Department.
The Batch is 28 years old on average and includes 15 female officer trainees or about 30.6 per cent of the overall number of trainees. 16 Indian states and union regions together make up the Batch. Kerala has the most officer trainees, followed by Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Karnataka with four each, and Bihar with six, where 73 per cent of the Officer trainees have engineering backgrounds in terms of their schooling. The batch also contains 3 Officer Trainees with backgrounds in the medical sciences, 3 OTs with backgrounds in business, and 1 Officer Trainee with a background in law. Officer Trainees who have job experience make up 53% of the group and Officer Trainees, who make up 33% of the group, are primarily from rural areas.
