IPL gambling den raided by Aheri Police

Aheri police recently raided an online IPL gambling den at Balaji Guest House in Aheri, resulting in the arrest of four bookies operating the illegal betting operation. The raid was conducted following reliable information received by the authorities about the den's activities.
During the raid, police discovered online betting on IPL cricket matches and attempts to lure others into betting. Four mobile phones and Indian currency totaling Rs. 29,420 were seized from Nikhil Durge and Asif Shaikh, who were arrested on the spot.
Following the interrogation of the arrested suspects, police identified other individuals involved in the gambling racket. The investigation revealed that Irfan Iqbal Shaikh, Sandeep Gudpawar, Nikhil Durge, Praneet Sriramwar, Akshay Ganmukalwar, Farman Sheikh, and Fardin Pathan were operating the racket at Allapalli.
The Aheri Police Station registered an offence against Nikhil Mallya Durge, Asif Fakir Mohammed Shaikh, Dhanjay Rajaratnam Gogiwar, Nikhil Gundawar, Praneet Sriramwar, Akshay Ganmukalwar, Farman Sheikh, Fardin Pathan, Irfan Iqbal Shaikh, and Sandeep Gudpawar under Sections 4 and 5 of the Maharashtra Gambling Prohibition Act.
The raid was conducted by a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Aheri M. Ramesh, Sub Divisional Police Officer Ajay Kokate, and Police Inspector Dashrath Waghmode. The operation was carried out with the assistance of PSIs Janardhan Kale, Gawli, Hawaldars Kambale, Sanjay Boliwar, Pathan, Madavi, Shende, Kendre, Devendra Durge, Suraj Karpe, Dahiphale, and driver Bhande. The operation was overseen by SP Mr. Nilotpal, Additional SP (Administration) Kumar Chinta S., Additional SP (Campaign) Yatish Deshmukh, and SDPO Ajay Kokate. The successful raid underscores the police's commitment to combating illegal gambling in the region.
