Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Blow Up Wife and Children

A disturbing incident in Koradi as a man, attempted to harm his wife and two children by keeping the LPG cylinder on, After keeping them at home on Monday. The accused identified as Ranjan Ganeshprasad Shav (46), a resident of Shailputri Apartments, Jagnade Layout, Om Nagar, Koradi, the accused was arrested by the police following a complaint from his brother-in-law. Shav, employed as a clerk in a cooperative bank, resided with his family in Shailputri Apartments, Om Nagar, where frequent domestic disputes with his wife occurred.
The situation occurred around 2 pm when an argument erupted between Shav and his wife, leading him to lose control of his temper. He confined his wife Minu (40), along with their 14-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter, in a room before tampering with the LPG cylinder in an attempt to cause an explosion. However, Minu managed to discreetly contact her brother and the police for help using her cell phone.
Swift action from law enforcement and cooperation from the Fire & Emergency Department of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation averted the potential disaster. Firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene promptly, with assistance from residents of the apartments, and successfully thwarted Shav's dangerous intentions. The rescue of Minu and her children was met with immense relief from the residents.
A case has been registered by the Koradi Police under Sections 307, 336, 286, and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code based on the complaint filed by Vivekshivkumar Lal (31), the accused's brother-in-law and resident of Borkute Layout, Narendra Nagar. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
