Massive Fire at Nagpur Wood Factory Near Deolapar Causes ₹5.75 Crore Loss

Nagpur, Trends: A major fire broke out at Atul Wood Products Company in the Maa Umiya Industrial Complex on Bhandara Road, Kapsi (Burj), in the early hours of Saturday. The fire destroyed machinery, raw materials, wooden stock, and tin sheds, causing an estimated loss of around ₹5.75 crore.

The fire started around 1 am. Anand Natitani reportedly owns the company. On receiving the alert, a fire engine from Kalamna Fire Station reached the spot. However, due to the scale of the fire, more help was called from fire stations across the city and nearby areas.

In total, 55 water tankers were used to bring the fire under control. These included 16 from Kalamna, 7 from Lakadganj, 2 from Sakkardara, 4 from Civil Lines, 3 from Trimurti Nagar, 8 from Mihan, 3 from Kalmeshwar Nagar Parishad, 5 from Wadi Nagar Parishad, 6 from Mouda Nagar Panchayat, and 3 from Mouda NTPC.

Even after the flames were doused, a fire engine remained at the site until 12:30 pm on Sunday as a precaution. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated.
