The perpetrators of the early Monday morning assaults on three people—including the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader—have been captured by Unit 4 of the Nagpur Crime Branch. The conflict in VR Mall was the cause of the incident.
After leaving Agent Jack at VR Mall, the victims—Arjun Omprakash Yadav, Vijay Hazare, and Anand Shah—had a furious altercation with Kunal Uikey. The accused followed Yadav and Hazare's car with his accomplices. Meanwhile, Shah had been picked up by the two.
When they arrived at Kamble Square, the defendants stopped the vehicle, took the three people out, and beat them until they suffered fractures and head wounds. "While Shah is in critical condition at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Yadav and Hazare are being monitored at Neuron Hospital in Dhantoli," PI Gaddime of the Imamwada Police Station reported.
A manhunt is in progress for the culprit, who has been charged under Section 307 of the IPC, he said. After the incident, accused Kunal Naresh Uikey (24), Vivek Lekraj Banothe (27), Pradeep Purandas Uikey (32), and Sumit Dilip Sahu (23), all of whom resided in Kumbhar Toli, Dhantoli, were apprehended by Unit 4 of the Crime Branch. Dilip, also known as Govind Sirsam (30), a resident of Noor Nagar, Koradi, was also detained.
