Nagpur Gets Light Showers, But Humidity Continues to Trouble Residents

Nagpur, India: Nagpur experienced a brief spell of rain on Friday evening after days of hot and dry weather. While the showers brought some relief, the humidity that followed made the weather uncomfortable for residents.
Clouds covered the city throughout the day, and light rain began around 7:30 pm. However, the humidity after the rain added to the discomfort. The maximum temperature recorded in Nagpur was 38.2°C.
In other parts of Vidarbha, temperatures stayed below 40°C. Wardha recorded the highest temperature at 38.5°C, followed by Brahmapuri at 38.2°C. Gadchiroli was cooler, with a temperature of 35°C.
The meteorological department had earlier issued an alert predicting thunderstorms and rain between March 20 and 22. However, the weather remained clear on March 20. Clouds gathered on Friday afternoon, and the rain followed in the evening.
Although the rain was brief and there were no strong winds or lightning, the humidity increased after the showers. It remains to be seen if the March 22 weather alert will come true. Meanwhile, the drop in temperatures across Vidarbha has brought some relief to the region.
