Nagpur Man Drowns in Kanhan River While Swimming

A tragic incident unfolded in Saoner tehsil as a man from Nagpur lost his life in the Kanhan river while attempting to swim on Thursday afternoon.
The victim, identified as Deepak Suresh Barapatre (29), was part of the Barapatre family from Nagpur, who had visited the Baba Tajuddin Dargah at Waki for darshan.
Deepak, seemingly seeking relief from the scorching day, entered the nearby flowing river for a swim. Unfortunately, he appeared to misjudge the river's depth and found himself in distress, struggling in the water.
Onlookers noticed Deepak's predicament and attempted to assist him, but tragically, he succumbed to the waters before they could reach him. Some local residents bravely entered the river and managed to retrieve Deepak's lifeless body.
Khapa police were alerted about the incident and swiftly arrived at the scene. Following necessary documentation, they transported the body to a hospital in Saoner for a post-mortem examination.
An ongoing investigation aims to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident. Meanwhile, both the police and local authorities have issued warnings urging the public to exercise caution and refrain from swimming in the river to prevent such incidents in the future.
