Nagpur Man Sets Fire to Girlfriend’s Vehicles After She Ends Relationship

Nagpur, India: A 22-year-old youth allegedly set fire to three scooters outside his girlfriend’s house in the Kapil Nagar area after she cut off all contact with him. The incident took place late Saturday night and has sparked concerns over rising cases of violent reactions to relationship disputes.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Snehal Sunil Ambade, had been in a three-year relationship with the woman, referred to as Punam (name changed). The affair came to light when Punam’s brother, Abhishek, found out and informed their parents. Following family intervention, Punam ended the relationship and stopped all communication with Snehal.

Unable to accept the breakup, Snehal allegedly tried multiple times to meet her, all of which were unsuccessful. On Saturday around midnight, he went to her house and banged on the door of her first-floor room. When Punam refused to respond, Snehal began shouting and allegedly abused her verbally. In a fit of rage, he reportedly set fire to three scooters parked outside the home.

Hearing the commotion, neighbours rushed out and called Abhishek. Together, they managed to douse the flames before the fire could spread. Snehal fled the scene before the police arrived.

A complaint was lodged at Kapil Nagar Police Station, and based on Abhishek’s report, the police have registered a case against Snehal. A search is currently underway to locate and arrest him.

Authorities are urging the public to seek healthy and peaceful ways to cope with emotional distress and relationship issues, warning that violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
