Nagpur May Hit 40°C Soon as Temperatures Rise

Nagpur, India: Temperatures in Vidarbha are rising as summer approaches. On Monday, Akola was the hottest place in the region, recording 38.6°C, while Buldhana was the coolest at 35°C.
In Nagpur, the temperature reached 36.9°C, which is 3°C higher than normal. The heat was felt early in the day, and forecasters expect temperatures to stay around 37°C or more in the coming days.
The weather department reports dry conditions across Central India, with daytime temperatures in Vidarbha staying 3 to 4°C above normal. By mid-March, the heat is expected to rise even more, possibly crossing 40°C by the end of the month.
Nagpur has recorded 43.3°C on 31st March in both 2017 and 2019, and experts believe this year could be just as hot or even hotter. Many places have already crossed 37°C, including Akola, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Wardha, and Bhandara.
