Nagpur Police Bust Ganja Smuggling from Odisha in Bank Manager’s Luggage

Nagpur, India: Police in Nagpur have seized 108 kilograms of ganja worth around ₹27 lakh that was smuggled all the way from Odisha. The drugs were hidden inside the luggage of a bank manager who was recently transferred to Nagpur. The bank manager was unaware that his belongings were being used to carry the drugs.

The smuggling was carried out by a man named Avinash Dhoke, who works for a packers and movers company. Dhoke hid the ganja in the luggage and is now arrested by the police. He is believed to be part of a larger drug trafficking group.

This bust was part of a bigger police operation called “Operation Thunder.” The Kalamna police stopped the vehicle carrying the luggage after receiving a tip-off. They arrested Dhoke and another person who was supposed to receive the drugs in Nagpur.

Police also caught the main mastermind behind the operation, Bulbul Pradhan, known as “WhatsApp Bhai,” from his village in Odisha, about 700 km away. Pradhan was arrested during an intelligence operation, and his phone had videos of previous drug busts by the Nagpur police, showing his involvement in the gang.

Pradhan is in police custody until 12 June while investigations continue. Police are working to find and arrest others involved in this drug smuggling network.
