Nagpur Police Seize MD Drugs and Firearm Worth ₹6.31 Lakh; 4 Arrested

Nagpur, India: Police have arrested four people involved in the illegal trade of Mephedrone (MD) drugs after two separate raids in the city.
The first raid took place at 1:55 a.m. near SDPL Colony, where three suspects—Sheikh Salman Sheikh Kaleem, Sheikh Shahrukh Sheikh Kaleem, and Swapnil Jambhulkar—were caught with 20 grams of MD drugs, four mobile phones, and a motorcycle. The total value of the seized items was ₹1.90 lakh. The suspects revealed that they bought the drugs from another man, Haider Parvez Mohammad Kazim.
In the second raid at 4:19 a.m., Haider Kazim was arrested near Shiv Mandir, Pachpaoli, along with 66 grams of MD drugs, a firearm, and a mobile phone. The total value of his seized items was ₹4.32 lakh. He confessed to sourcing the drugs from a person named Sheikh Mukarram, who is still on the run.
In total, 86 grams of MD powder, a firearm, one live cartridge, six mobile phones, and two vehicles worth ₹6.31 lakh were seized. All four arrested men face charges under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.
The operation was led by Police Inspector Gajanan Gulhane, under the guidance of senior officials. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are searching for the other suspects involved.
