New Flyover Between Chinchbhuvan and Mihan Starting Soon

Nagpur, India: The Public Works Department's (PWD) National Highway Division will start work on the Nagpur-Butibori six-lane project next month. The plan includes building a 2.69 km flyover on Wardha Road, connecting Chinchbhuvan to the Mihan flyover. Once completed, the flyover will permanently ease traffic congestion at Chinchbhuvan Square.
The project follows the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), where the government finances 40% of the total cost and the contractor covers the rest. The contractor will be reimbursed after the project's completion.
The flyover will feature a modern design with a single pier cap on one pier. It will include a 6-lane flyover on top and a 4-lane road below, creating a total of 10 lanes to ease traffic. The project has been awarded to AK Shivhare Company from Bhopal, and work will begin soon.
Additionally, the existing 4-lane road after the Mihan bridge will be expanded to 6 lanes up to Parsodi, improving connectivity.
Key project details:
- Total cost: ₹332 crore
- Flyover width: 27 meters
- Completion timeline: 30 months
- Travel time: Once completed, the distance from Nagpur to Bird Park will take just 15 minutes.
